Respondus 4.0 Update (Version 4.0.6.04)

An update of Respondus 4.0 has been released: version 4.0.6.04

This update fixes a header and footer issue when importing exams to MS Word format. It also fixes an authentication problem that was affecting some Blackboard Learn SaaS clients.

LockDown Browser for Mac version 2.0.1.01 has been available for new installations or by using "Check for Update" since April 21, 2017.  On Thursday, May 25, 2017, we will push this update to student installations of LockDown Browser using the Auto-Update feature.

The Lab Edition of LockDown Browser will not be affected by this update, nor will the Windows and iOS versions of LockDown Browser. But you are encouraged to update lab versions at your earliest convenience.

LockDown Browser for Windows, version 2.0.2.00

An update to the LockDown Browser client for Windows has been released: version 2.0.2.00.  This release contains an update to the underlying Chromium engine, has improvements for international keyboards, and provides some security improvements.  This release will not install on Windows XP and Windows Vista.

StudyMate Class Moodle Module Update (Version 3.0.0.02)

An update of the Moodle Module for StudyMate Class has been released: Version 3.0.0.02.

This update contains some minor bug fixes and improvements. The same Moodle Module can be installed on older Moodle 2.x systems.

Campus Wide administrators can obtain the updated Moodle Module by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > StudyMate Class Campus Wide - then select the server profile that matches the server where the Moodle Module will be installed.

LockDown Browser Moodle Integration Update (Version 2017042500)

An update of the Moodle integration for LockDown Browser has been released: version 2017042500.

This update includes Respondus Monitor support for a non-editing teacher role in Moodle.  The same Moodle Block can be installed on older Moodle 2.x systems.

Administrators can obtain the updated Moodle integration by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > LockDown Browser.  If there is more than one server profile for your institution, be sure to select the download associated with the desired server profile.

LockDown Browser Moodle Integration Update (Version 20170307)

An update of the Moodle integration for LockDown Browser has been released: version 20170307.

This update replaces the use of Moodle customscripts and now uses the Moodle Quiz Access rules framework.  The update requires a new Quiz Access Moodle Module to be installed with the Moodle Block.  You will need to refer to the administrator guide and follow the  instructions for removing the customscripts and installing the new integration components.  The new integration can be installed on older Moodle 2.x systems.

Administrators can obtain the updated Moodle integration by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > LockDown Browser.  If there is more than one server profile for your institution, be sure to select the download associated with the desired server profile.

Service Outage

On Tuesday, Feb 28th, Amazon Web Services experienced a major outage with S3 (Simple Storage Services) that lasted several hours. Thousands of web sites and services were affected, including those provided by Respondus. During the height of the problem, instructors were unable to access the LockDown Browser dashboard, students were unable to download the installer for LockDown Browser, and for a shorter period of time, students couldn’t start an exam using Respondus Monitor. We were also limited in our ability to send outgoing email during the outage. Once the AWS services were restored, we were back online shortly thereafter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We felt your pain.

Respondus 4.0 Update (Version 4.0.6.03)
