LockDown Browser client for Mac, version 1.0.7.11, has been released. This update includes improved Respondus Monitor support for Brightspace.  Existing installs of Mac LockDown Browser will NOT be auto-updated at this time. To obtain the latest version (1.0.7.11), use the "Check for Update" feature or run the full installation program.

Windows LockDown Browser version 2.0.0.00

An update to the LockDown Browser client for Windows has been released: version 2.0.0.00.

This is an all-new version of LockDown Browser based on Chromium (the open source code on which the Chrome Browser is based), rather than Internet Explorer.

This version is only available as a new install (or "Check for Update" from the beta version).  Earlier versions of the browser (based on IE) will receive security updates for the foreseeable future.

This update includes a fix for the Home Edition of Windows 10.  Existing installs of LockDown Browser will NOT be auto-updated at this time. To obtain the latest version (1.0.7.12), use the "Check for Update" feature or run the full installation program.

This update includes improved support for Canvas, D2L, Moodle and a lab-only application whitelist feature.  Existing installs of Mac LockDown Browser will NOT be auto-updated at this time. To obtain the latest version (1.0.7.10), use the "Check for Update" feature or run the full installation program.

As a reminder, future releases of LockDown Browser will no longer support Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6.

LockDown Browser Moodle Block Update (Version 2015071500)

An update of the Moodle Block for LockDown Browser has been released: version 2015071500.

This update addresses an issue that can cause the LockDown Browser dashboard to load slowly. Some other minor bug fixes are also included.

Administrators can obtain the updated Moodle Block by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > LockDown Browser.  If there is more than one server profile for your institution, be sure to select the Moodle Block associated with the desired server profile.

Campus Wide administrators can obtain the updated Moodle Module by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > StudyMate Class Campus Wide - then select the server profile that matches the server where the Moodle Module will be installed.

Please ignore the previous announcement for an updated LockDown Browser Moodle Block that supports Moodle 2.9.  No changes were required to the LockDown Browser Moodle block to support Moodle 2.9.

However, an update of the Moodle Module for Respondus 4.0 has been released: version 2.9.0.00.  This update includes support for Moodle 2.9.

LockDown Browser client for Mac, version 1.0.7.07, has been released.  This update includes improved support for D2L and bug fixes for Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle and Sakai. All student installs of Mac LockDown Browser will be auto-updated to 1.0.7.06 (the previous version).  The "Check for Update" feature and new installs will find the latest version, 1.0.7.07.

At this time we are also announcing that future releases of LockDown Browser will no longer support Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6.

LockDown Browser Moodle Block Update (Version 2015051800)

An update of the Moodle Block for LockDown Browser has been released: version 2015051800.

This update addresses an issue with orphaned exams in course backups when a course is copied from one server to another. Some other minor bug fixes are also included.

Administrators can obtain the updated Moodle Block by going to Respondus.com > Customer Login > LockDown Browser.  If there is more than one server profile for your institution, be sure to select the Moodle Block associated with the desired server profile.

This update adds support for web based authentication in the StudyMate iPad App.
